ABOUT THE PROJECT
Training and local knowledge are an essential part of any successful water treatment project. Moerk Water partners with local organisations and vocational training centres across the world to improve local capacity. In East Africa, Moerk Water has partnered with Pamoja Zanzibar for local servicing and maintenance of our water treatment units in the area. Pamoja Zanzibar are a local Zanzibari engineering company that specialises in the servicing of machinery. Pamoja have set up a local vocational training centre in Zanzibar where they build local capacity in the maintenance and servicing of water treatment units. The vocational training centre includes a membrane filtration water treatment unit where locals come and collect water. By partnering with a local organisation which trains its own service technicians, Moerk Water has been able to operate membrane filtration units in East Africa in extremely remote locations for more than a decade.
