ABOUT THE PROJECT
In 2018, Moerk Water were approached to design the water supply for a hospital upgrade in Ara’ava, Papua New Guinea. The submitted design for the upgraded water supply consisted of two different water supply schemes. The first was an upgraded drinking water system to supply the hospital and the second was a well water distribution system for supplying the showers and toilets. The final design documents included site drawings, floor plans and pipework diagrams. A preliminary cost estimation of the water supply system was also included with the design documents. The design was then used to apply for a grant to fund the hospital upgrade. When the grant application was successful, the hospital water supply was built to Moerk Water’s design and now serves 250 patients and staff.
