The 10th IWA-ASPIRE Conference and New Zealand Water Conference and Expo was held at the Te Pae Convention Centre and Christchurch Town Hall in Christchurch Ōtautahi. The conference ran from Monday the 29th September to Friday 3rd October 2025. This was the first time that Moerk Water Solutions had attended the Water NZ conference.

Moerk Water took the opportunity to exhibit their wide range of sustainable water treatment solutions which are ideal for industrial, municipal and remote contexts. For the first three days of the conference, Moerk Water had a stand in the exhibition space. A range of stakeholders visited the stand and were keen to learn more about Moerk Water’s different water treatment technologies to treat surface water, groundwater or seawater. Additionally, Moerk Water’s holographic projector was very popular with passers-by.

Our Director of Technology, Dr Mat Francis delivered a well attended presentation on solar powered chemical free water treatment systems.  The presentation focussed on the reasons behind the frequent failures of remote water treatment systems. The talk also discussed how using sustainable and lifecycle approaches can greatly improve chances of long term success. Decentralised water treatment solutions have become an essential technology for providing remote communities with sustainable sources of safe drinking water. Lastly, the talk discussed the importance of local maintenance and operation of these water treatment systems to ensure long term success.

More information about Moerk Water’s technology solutions can be found here.
