Fifteen students from Murdoch University visited Moerk Water’s research facility on Thursday, June 21st for an introduction to the portable desalination unit that they will be taking to an isolated community in Indonesia this July.
The students, accompanied by Dr. Martin Anda of Murdoch University, were given a brief introduction to the unit in the workshop by Moerk Water Director Martin Brezger.
Following the presentation, the students had an opportunity to do some hands-on field testing of the equipment at South Beach in Fremantle, Australia.
The unit is 100% solar powered and produces clean, drinkable water at a rate of 20-30L/hour. All the equipment fits neatly into two travel boxes and can easily be taken anywhere in the world.
