What a wonderful year we have had providing communities in the Indo-Pacific Region with fresh water. Before the year comes to an end, I am delighted to share more good news stories from Moerk Water with you. Moerk Water would like to acknowledge and pay gratitude to the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Charles Abel, for giving us the ability to provide safe drinking water to 800-2000 people in East Cape Village. We also thank the Alotau Administrator, Mr Lindsay Alesana and Mr Leleki Tarosomo for their excellent cooperation.

East Cape Village Trained and Ready!
After years without adequate access to safe water, the people of East Cape Village in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea have been provided with the technology and skills to create their own fresh water.

In September 2018, Moerk Water provided 800 villagers in Uripiv Island, Vanuatu with fresh drinking water. We were thrilled to receive the testimony below from Brad Jones who lives on the Island with his family.

Moerk’s Portable Desalination Unit Designed for Emergency Response
Moerk Water’s portable solar powered desalination unit is designed to transport as airplane luggage and set up in under 10 minutes. The technology is ideal for providing water during emergency response to remote communities affected by droughts, floods and the effects of El Niño.
The unit produces clean, drinkable water at a rate of 20- 30L/hour.

Indonesian Delegates Visit Moerk Water’s Workshop
A delegation of representatives from the Indonesian Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the Institute of Pertanian Stiper, supervised by Murdoch University’s Dr Martin Anda, recently visited Moerk Water’s Workshop in Perth WA.
The delegates were interested to learn how our technology could provide remote communities and farmers in Indonesia with a much-needed water supply. Having never seen simplified solar-powered reverse osmosis systems at work before, the delegates were fascinated to learn the technicalities.
